The idea of the 'recap' was born on an autumn afternoon, in our studio in Padua. A provisional name that we knew from the beginning would become definitive, because it looks like us: direct, ironic and informal.
"Recappone" — which now has a capital R — was created for a simple reason: to put in order everything we have done in the last year of Rawr.
At the beginning of the year, we set ourselves some goals. One was this: to complete the side projects created during our first hackathon, in September 2024.
We did it! And not only that: we also had the opportunity to present them to two Italian companies that we highly value: Satispay and FABA.
We can't go into details yet, but we can say that both projects explore new ways of combining physical product and digital world.
A Satispay we brought a real product, prototyped, printed and tested. A decidedly unconventional thing for a 100% digital company.

A FABA we presented the results of a User Research on emerging needs related to the Storyteller product, through interviews and discussions with parents, educators and pedagogists.

The meeting with FABA has already been followed up, in fact the company involved us in another project: imagining a new accessory for FABA+, the Interactive Storyteller.
So, we organized a hackathon involving 13 designers: those from the company's creative team and those from our network, all led by us at Rawr.
From 9 in the morning to 9 in the evening we worked tirelessly: research, analysis, sketches, prototypes and lots of ideas to compare and test. At the end of the day, the concepts were presented and we are working to take some proposals to the next level. As they say in these cases: stay tuned.

In the last twelve months, some collaborations have continued, others have started. All of them have helped to make Rawr grow.
We continued our work with Globus for the design of the new range of professional medical products dedicated to sport, and with Olimpia Splendid for the design of a new range of products for domestic air conditioning.
In the meantime, new collaborations have been created: with Keter for a research project that explores possible future scenarios related to the outdoor world and with Rotel HiFi, a Japanese company, for the redesign of the Rotel and Michi amplifiers.
Thanks to Galileo Visionary District, on the other hand, we have developed several projects created within the courses of the Italian School of Design - SID. In particular:
per Breton we held a training course dedicated to the company's design team on UX/UI and Figma + worked on the definition of a new Design Language System; for Cimbria we have redesigned an industrial HMI; for Irinox we have designed the new version of the FreshCloud® B2B app; for Medical Vanguard we have improved the Mediphonica medical app experience.
There would be much more to add and that is precisely why there is a dedicated section on our site.
The link with the world of training is not accidental: in addition to being designers by profession, we are [Ale and Chris Ed.] teachers of the Italian School of Design - SID. This year, for the first time, we held the Multimedia Design course together and shared the Rawr approach with second-year students. The brief was this: to develop a product that mixes physical and digital while adding a bit of irony. After 5 months of work, the projects were presented — and appreciated — in an exhibition open to the entire school.

Still on the subject of design and in the SID field, we were invited to participate as a speaker at the event “SID, next: a comma that opens up to the future”, where we talked about how to design an experience starting from a daily gesture: the payment of a product through an app. There is a video testimonial of our intervention.

We have discovered that we really like to organize events and one of the good intentions for 2026 is to organize more!
Design On Tap is the format we invented to bring together collaborators and designer friends that we know, that we want to know better and that we want to make known to each other... even if then we discover that they already knew each other. A luuuuuuungo aperitif to talk, share experiences, exchange ideas and imagine new projects together. Reliable sources say it worked, so we're ready for the next round of beers.

In February 2025, Rawr turned one year old.. So we wanted to celebrate this milestone properly. It was the perfect opportunity to better explain to parents and friends what we do every day.
Did we succeed? Probably not.
Was it a great party? Definitely yes.

For the birthday we also gave each other a gift: an online shop with our merch. T-shirt, sweatshirt, stickers and pins by Rawr because we like the idea that those who share our vision can also wear it, carry it around and make it their own. We can't promote the shop enough, so let's take advantage of Recappone to insert a nice CTA “Buy here.”

We went to Milan several times: on the occasion of the exhibition”Inventive obsessive” curated by Joe Velluto Studio and then for a tour of Fuorisalone.

We flew to London for Config 2025 and, in addition to the new features, we have brought home new ideas and stimulating visions on design.

We were also atItalian Bike Fest in Misano to observe closely the news, materials and projects of a constantly evolving sector that we like to observe and try.

We participated in the Festival of Philosophy in Modena, Carpi and Sassuolo to collect stimuli and reflections useful both for the role of designer and for that of teachers.

Then we returned to Milan — again — at Host, the event dedicated to catering and hospitality. And not only to take a tour of the stands but also for a project created within SID during the Master Project of the third year.
Al WUD of Bolzano, instead, we listened to inspiring people and we came out really inspired as well as increasingly hungry... for knowledge!

We went around and saw a lot, but we really missed the Deadline Festival organized last year by Caffè Design and Talent Garden. An event that we enjoyed so much and that we hope will come back (so we'll be back too).
We like to be in packs — it's in our nature as designers — and along the way we meet people who walk with us leaving their footsteps.
Elia Martinazzi, industrial designer — aka the Pterosaurus — moved to Rawr for a university internship, bringing with him great concentration and attention to the product.

Giorgia Pellegrini (Gio in Rawr), product & UX designer — aka Archaeopteryx — arrived full of enthusiasm and design sensitivity.

User Research in design: why it's crucial
Let's dive deeper into why we spend time researching users and how this guides us in our design choices to design better.
AI: threat or opportunity for designers?
Let's share what we've learned experimenting with AI tools and why we believe that AI enhances — not replaces — our creativity.
Digital accessibility: a bit of clarity
Let's explain why for us, accessibility is not an option, but a fundamental design mindset to create better products for all people.

Let's talk about how we analyzed and designed a daily experience to understand what it means to design with attention and a critical sense.
Design Sprint: running fast doesn't mean getting everywhere
Let's reflect on how the fast pace of a design sprint should not make us lose sight of the real objectives of the project during development.
Designing is staying: the role of design before and after launch
We share because for us, design does not end at launch, but continues to evolve looking at the complete experience of people.
The smart glasses challenge: Meta versus Amazon. Who wins?
Let's analyze the comparison between the main smart glasses to understand which technological challenges and opportunities interest us most in future design.
Among the twenty twenty-five news there is also Bookmarks a space on our site where we collect the books that we have marked, that we like to report and that are reported to us. In the meantime, we have read others, but we have yet to find the time to review them!

Gio won the savory pie competition organized for Spazio Cartabianca's Christmas dinner.

Chris hit it off with karts.

Ale has launched a new format: the ranking of breakfast cookies (sooner or later he will also want to know your top 3).

'Recappon' rhymes with 'Pippone', and this is a bit so because it sums up a year of things done, seen, organized, designed and read. If we have good feedback on the matter, the next ones will be lighter - promised - than “recappini”.
The best way to look ahead is to look back, with a smile, a pat on the back... and a rawrrrrrr.
